Yearly activities of the club reviewed and discussed, new honorary members accepted and new LCLC president takes over for the next year.

Lithuanian City of London Club

City Big Brother. Tai LCLC organizuojamas pirmas tokio pobūdžio savanoriškas LCLC narių ir studentų profesinio mokymo (“mentorship”) projektas. Po itin sėkmingo 2009 metų starto, kviečiame prisijungti prie šiemetinio projekto!

Projekto pristatymas:

  • Projekto Big Brother (BB) antrąją 2010 metų komandą sudaro 15 lietuvių – LCLC narių (investicijų bankininkai, finansininkai, konsultantai ir kt.)
  • Projekto tikslas – suteikti bakalauro studijų lygio Lietuviams studentams, besimokantiems Anglijoje, Lietuvoje ar kitur, progą individualiai bendrauti su LCLC BB komandos nariais įvairiais profesiniais ir akademiniais klausimais.
  • Numatomos neformalių diskusijų kryptys yra šios: a) patarimai stojantiems į tarptautines magistratūros programas; b) patarimai bendrais karjeros planavimo klausimais; c) vasaros praktikos bei nuolatinio darbo paieškos proceso aptarimas.
  • Small Brothers ir Sisters (SB) paraiškos bus priimamos iki 2010m kovo 31 d.
  • Projekto organizatoriai kiekvienam BB priskirs iki trijų SB, atsižvelgdami į pasirinkimus, motyvacinį laišką, BB galimybes. Ne visos SB paraiškos bus patenkintos. Taip pat kai kurie BB gali turėti po mažiau nei 3 BB (žr. BB pristatymo paragrafų skaičių skliausteliuose). Po BB ir SB suporavimo, bendravimo kryptys bei efektyvumas priklausys tik nuo pačių SB iniciatyvos.
  • Svarbu: projekto tikslas nėra padėti SB gauti darbus tam tikrose įmonėse ar “įstoti į MBA”; koncentruojamasi bus į supratimą, kaip vyksta samdymas į specifines profesijas, ko reikia stojant į geriausias magistratūros programas ir kt.

Pasiūlymas Tau

Big Brother projektas yra skirtas Tau, jei esi trečio / ketvirto kurso studentas, esi iniciatyvus, savarankiškas, ir rimtai dirbi link tikslo tęsti mokslą užsienyje ar profesionalo karjerą Lietuvoje ar svetur.

Jei nori dalyvauti:

  1. išsirink tris pageidaujamus Big Brothers iš žemiau pateikto sąrašo;
  2. surašyk jų vardus ir pavardes eilės tvarka į laiško "Subject", pvz. 1) Petras Vaičius; 2) Indrė Dargytė; 3) Rytis Vitkauskas;
  3. siųsk iki 400 žodžių motyvacinį laišką ir pasirinktinai CV (CV nėra privaloma) iki 2010m kovo 31d. adresu CityBigBrother@gmail.com. City Big Brothers

Audinga Besusparytė (2) joined GEM as an Associate in September 2007, where she works on diverse transactions, from VC investments to buyouts, with a focus on financial institutions, technology and real estate in Europe, Africa and Asia. In addition to transaction work, she is involved in hands on portfolio management, including several board positions. Previously while at Ernst & Young Baltic, Audinga gained experience in the operational implementation of the corporate strategy and received an exceptionally early promotion to Senior Consultant. She played an active role in the reorganization and efficiency improvement programs of several large Lithuanian companies in the finance and transport industries as well as in the public sector. Prior to that she spent five years at pan-European NGO's, helping establish youth organizations across developing European countries. She holds a degree in Economics from Vilnius University and has recently been admitted to a top MBA program. Audinga looks forward to working with a proactive and ambitious small brother/sister.

Donatas Brazdžius (3) is an investment consultant at a UK asset management firm Woodsford Consulting. Donatas advises the firm mainly on publicly traded investments and is working on setting up Singapore-based macro hedge fund. Prior to Woodsford Donatas worked in a global hedge fund Pivot Capital Management in Tallinn and Vilnius and in Brunswick Leasing Limited, railcar leasing company, in Moscow. Donatas has a B.Sc. in Economics degree from Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and Masters in Finance degree from London Business School. He was awarded CFA designation in 2006. Donatas can work with students who are interested in a career in investments, research and asset management.

Justas Bugnevičius (1) is an associate working on the mortgage trading desk at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London. Justas joined Merrill Lynch Global Markets Analyst programme in July 2007 after graduating from London School of Economics. He has a Bachelors degree in Mathematics from Jacobs University Bremen. Justas is looking to work with the motivated students who study in UK (or want to study in UK) and are looking to work on a trading floor at an investment bank.

Kornelijus Čelutka (1) is a partner at MTVP, a regional venture capital firm. MTVP manages funds which invest into fast growing technology and internet ventures in Russia, the CIS and Central and Eastern Europe. Before joining MTVP, Kornelijus worked with Deutsche Bank investment banking team in London where he advised clients on M&A, IPO and private equity transactions across Western Europe and CEE. He was also with a regional M&A advisory firm Prime Investment in Lithuania and spent a stint with Model N, a software company in Silicon Valley. Kornelijus holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business and an undergraduate degree from Vilnius University. Kornelijus would like to work with students who are interested in graduate studies in top global universities, and international careers in investment banking and TMT industries.

Indrė Dargytė (3) is an Associate at Laven Partners, where she is part of the due diligence team performing investment and operational due diligence for hedge funds. She focuses on qualitative fund assessment, including investment strategies, fund structuring and operational reviews. Prior to joining Laven she gained experience at UniCredit group (equity capital markets), Euro-IB (investment banking) and SEB VB (asset management). Indre graduated from King’s College London with a BSc in Business Management. She is also the President of the Lithuanian Youth Association in the United Kingdom. Indre is looking to work with students who are interested in hedge funds, also undergraduates who are currently looking for finance related internships.

Darius Daubaras (1) is a Partner at Spencer House Capital Management LLP, a London-based investment firm founded and chaired by Lord Rothschild, and is responsible for identifying and executing private equity investments for Tau Capital plc, a closed-end fund focused on Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Mr. Daubaras has over 11 years of combined experience in investment banking and private equity. He began his investment banking career at Citigroup (previously Salomon Brothers) in 1997 where he focused on telecommunications, media and technology sectors and worked in New York, Hong Kong and London, advising clients on a variety of M&A and capital raising transactions in the US, Europe and Asia. Following his MBA studies in 2003, Darius joined Merrill Lynch in London and a year later moved to Credit Suisse’s media & telecom investment banking team, where he advised clients on a number of M&A, private equity, advisory and capital raising transactions across Europe and particularly in the Emerging Markets. Prior to joining Spencer House Capital Management, Mr. Daubaras was a senior vice president in the equity capital markets at Credit Suisse, where he advised clients in Russia and CIS on IPOs and private placement transactions. Mr. Daubaras holds a BSBA with Summa Cum Laude Honours (major in Finance) from the University of Denver and obtained his MBA degree (major in Finance) from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 2003. Mr. Daubaras is fluent in English, Russian and Lithuanian. Darius is interested to work with a student interested in a career in finance as well as in MBA studies.

Viktoras Jucikas (1) is Vice President at Goldman Sachs, currently at Fund Derivatives desk, where he works on risk and risk modelling. Before that, Viktoras has been working in Global Macro Prop trading desk strategies team, then moved to Equity Exotics and Hybrids desk. Viktoras graduated from Jacobs University Bremen with MSc in Computational Sciences and Kaunas University of Technology with BSc in Computer Science. Viktoras is also the President of Lithuanian City of London Club.

Marius Jurgilas (3) has been working for the last two years as an Economist at the Bank of England, Financial Stability Directorate. He is mainly focusing on the issues of liquidity regulation and money markets. Before joining the Bank, Marius was teaching Monetary Policy and Statistics at Elon University (North Carolina, US). Received his doctorate in Economics at the University of Connecticut (CT, US). VU EF graduate. Marius would like to work with students who are interested in graduate studies (PhD, Master’s degrees).

Žilvinas Mečelis (3) is a Managing Director at Arc Asset Management, which is an internal hedge fund for Noble Group. Previously, he was Portfolio Manager at GLG Partners for 5 years in London, and before that Senior Analyst at a US utility-focused hedge fund Zimmer Lucas. Graduated from Pace University in New York with a BA degree. Looking to work with students who want to be sure to be in finance as it will be the least socially useful thing they can do with their lives and it is only worth for the money.

Yuri Romanenkov (3) is a management consultant with The Boston Consulting Group. Prior to joining BCG, he was with the Strategy Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers (London) and McKinsey & Company (Warsaw). Yuri has worked with clients in a wide range of industries (most notably, retail, financial services, pharmaceuticals and energy) on a variety of strategic issues both in the UK and internationally. He also has previous experience in investment banking and public policy. Yuri graduated with a BSc in Economics and Business from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, where he remains involved as a guest lecturer in Strategy. He is looking to work with students with an interest in management consulting and professional services more generally.

Egis Rimkus (3) is a gasoline trader at Trafigura, which is one of the largest independent commodities trading companies in the world. Based in Geneva, Egis is responsible for NWE gasoline book and is trading physical products as well as paper derivatives. Egis finished his undergraduate studies (BA Hons) at Kingston University, two years of which were spent at Niels Brock Business College in Copenhagen. Previous experience includes trading commodities for the US major Chevron and working in the energy arm of an international consultancy Global Insight. Egis will be glad to work with students interested in pursuing careers in commodities trading or related industries.

Simona Stulpinaitė (3) is a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers Listed Fund Advisory team that focuses on advising various clients from international banks to investment managers on launching funds on the London Stock Exchange. Simona has also worked within the Corporate Finance practice of the firm focusing on the ETF and business services sectors. Before joining PwC, Simona worked at a securities house where she was involved in a number of new equity issues in the small cap arena and gained her Corporate Finance Certificate at the end of 2007. Having spent a year in the United States as a Rotary Exchange student, she graduated from the University of Southampton with a BSc in Economics and Finance. Simona is looking to work with students from Lithuania and the UK with an interest in pursuing a Corporate Finance career in the City.

Petras Vaičius (2) is a Senior Associate at BofA Merrill Lynch Investment Banking Division, where he works in the CEEMEA Group and is mainly focused on the Media, Telecoms and Consumer sectors in Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Petras was with HSBC’s Investment Banking Division, CEE / CIS Group. Throughout his career, Petras advised a wide array of clients, including corporates, financial sponsors, governments as well as entrepreneurs on M&A transactions, equity and debt raisings. Petras graduated from Stanford University with an MA in International Policy (focus on Political Economy) where he was a Fulbright Scholar, and the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga with a BSc and Economics and Business. Petras is looking to work with students with an interest in investment banking and graduate studies.

Vilija Vaitkevičiūtė (3) has recently joined a start up commercial real estate fund investing in the UK. Prior to that she was at Lehman Brothers Real Estate Partners (“LBREP”), focusing on underwriting and execution of all types of real estate transactions, including asset portfolios, development platforms and public real estate company acquisitions. Prior to joining LBREP, Vilija spent over two years as an analyst and later as an associate at Structured Credit Derivative desk at Lehman Brothers, focusing on trading and risk management. Vilija holds a degree in Economics from Christ’s College, Cambridge University.

Rytis Vitkauskas (2) - currently Vice President at a private equity fund Summit Partners. Team leader for Central and Eastern Europe and Scandinavia. Previous experience with Merrill Lynch (investment banking), Deutsche Bank (sales and operations), and SEB VB (asset management). Rytis graduated with distinction from the Harvard Business School MBA program (Boston, MA), and did his bachelor's at Jacobs University Bremen (Bremen, Germany). Rytis is looking to work with motivated students, particularly emphasizing that those interested in finance, entrepreneurship and MBA studies will gain the most from this relationship.
