In December 2013 LCLC members got together for a fancy dress Christmas party in one of London’s secret bars in Brick Lane, London. The non-traditional event organised by LCLC Board had a theme of "End of the World War 2 Celebration". LCLC Members were intrigued by receiving mysterious invitations and telegrams prior to the party, which had carefully coded information on how and when the event was held.
To reflect 1940's Blitz Party atmosphere guests arrived dressed up as a solders, pilots, movie stars, spies, swing dancers and the like. The bar location was perfect to imitate an air-raid bunker. Propaganda posters on the walls, did-you-know leaflets, candle lighting and 40's music played to ensure the mood of the period.
Guests also enjoyed Bingo (typical 40's game) and had a chance to learn a few Swing and Lindy-Hop dance moves. And, of course, the Queen and the King of the Blitz Party were revealed and awarded.
