LCLC marked its 10th anniversary
September 25, 2016

The Lithuanian City of London Club (LCLC), which was established 10 years ago, has united many of its current members and alumni, as well as other friends and honourable guests, in its Anniversary Gala Dinner on the 9th of September. The 10th Anniversary event took place in the very heart of City of London, at the Stationers Hall, which was built next to St Paul‘s Cathedral back in 17th century. Since 2006 the Club has had more than 100 City of London professionals as its members. Most of them continue to pursue succesful finance, law and consulting careers in London, while some already have significant achievements in other fields such as politics, education and IT.

The evening guests were greated by the Club‘s president Marius Raugalas; Her Excellency Asta Skaisgirytė-Liauškienė, the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the United Kingdom; Mantvydas Bekešius, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania; Edward Lucas, writer and Senior Editor at the Economist; Sir Paul Judge, Alderman of the City of London; Benjaminas Žemaitis, President of the Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts; and Kotryna-Stankutė-Jaščemskienė, Director of Global Lithuanian Leaders.

Edward Lucas highlighted the importance of this unique gathering of Lithuanians in the heart of City of London by starting his speech with the inspiring words, this is what we were fighting for!” [when fighting for Lithuania’s Independence over 25 years ago].

Congratulations came from Lithuania as well – from Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius, the Mayor of Vilnius Remigijus Šimašius and many others who were part of the Club‘s history. They were recorded in a short anniversary movie.

The musical entertainment was provided by accordionist Aurimas Goris, 1st Violin Trial in London Philharmonic Orchestra Rasa Žukauskaitė, and Danny Mills, one of London‘s top piano playing and singing entertainers.

The Club would like to express its gratitude to the evening’s Gold Sponsor, Strategic Staffing Solutions (S3), which is the 6th largest diversity staffing firm in the US and a global provider of business and IT services, including staff augmentation, managed staffing programs, and solutions, with more than 25 years of consecutive growth.
