LCLC members weekend in Wales
November 3, 2014
One thing that is guaranteed to get participation of LCLC people is a sporting challenge and so 18 of us packed for a weekend in Wales, the infamous Afan forest, the paradise of mountain bikers, one of the top 10 MTB places in the world.

We all met up on Friday evening in lovely Cilhendre Fawr Cottages in Wales and called it a rather early night to gain enough strength for the next day's mission.

Saturday morning sunshine called us out to have breakfast outdoors with lovely views of the hills and valleys of Wales. Shades on, moods up, and we set off to the Afan Forest bike hire shop.

The start on a red run was not everyone's cup of tea and so the group soon split into those looking for thrill and bruises on legs and those loving it at the leisurely pace. The adventure left us with memorable experiences and some newborn MTB lovers, with some even considering a road bike swap for an MTB one.

After a day full of activities the hunger chased us to The Butchers Arms pub with an after-party back in the cottages.

Sunday was declared as leisure day and so we went to the Waterfall Country in Brecon Beacons National Park. There we trekked for a couple of hours through the forest visiting waterfalls, including the infamous Henrhyd Waterfall that was the entry into Batman's Cave in the Hollywood's movie The Dark Knight Rises.

Thank you Gedas Mitkus and Vilma Midveryte for organising another great LCLC trip!
