Mid-March LCLC members yet again gathered together for the traditional annual ski trip. Destination - Lech, Austria. An amazing choice!
The trip started late on a Thursday night in Zurich airport where all LCLC’ers met up and split into cars to start the journey up the mountains. Later arrival meant just a few hours of sleep for an early start on a Friday but everyone was full of excitement to hit the slopes. After a few rounds of warming up all gathered together in the sunshine (worth mentioning it was +13C!) to enjoy a cold drink and some Austrian cuisine. It was a great turnaround: 18 LCLC members including alumni from Brussels, Switzerland and honoured guests from Lithuania occupied two tables on the sunny side of the slope. After more turns, jumps, falls, sunshine, and slush in the afternoon the enthusiasts reflected on the first skiing day in the après ski bar before hitting the oldest Austrian restaurant in Lech, Hus Nr.8, for delicious dinner.
Saturday morning started with the skiing classes given by our skiing instructors Vilma and Viktorija who helped for the two new skiers to be born! All money raised for the lessons will go to LCLC’s Charity Fund. At the same time other LCLC’ers were determined to complete the “white ring” - a unique ski circuit in the alpine region, which connects Lech, Zürs, Zug and Oberlech. After a very productive day on the slopes and a fun après ski gathering everyone headed to Olympia restaurant where the closing party of the trip began. LCLC’ers continued the night to the early hours of Sunday in a famous club in Lech!
Sunday started earlier for some than for others and almost everyone managed to spend a couple of hours on the slopes before heading back to Zurich and London. It was a wonderful adventurous weekend and everyone left Austria with great memories in mind!
Special gratitude goes to Daumantas for organising the trip.
